We are ambassadors for Christ. Jesus came to save sinners, but He is currently in heaven and He is glad to save them through you and me, those of us already saved. Jesus Christ went to the cross alone to save sinners. Yet in preaching the gospel and setting the captives free, He wants His followers to associate with His Spirit, so that we can say, “We then, as workers together with Him also plead with you not to receive the grace of God in vain” (2 Cor. 6:1). In shedding His blood to save sinners, He was alone but in going to all nations to make disciples, we are His fellow workers. We are God’s associates working together with Him. It’s a privilege to know that Christ delights to work through us as far as we permit Him to do so.
We are labourers together with Him in His plentiful harvest field. Let’s be zealous for the things of God so we can reap the harvest of souls together with Him. God is pleased to see us assisting in His work to bring glory to His Holy name. It’s His joy to see His disciples weeping for souls, it’s His joy to hear their tongues-speaking in prayer and in the preaching of the Gospel. It’s His joy to see His ambassadors saving souls from death and hell, serving as miracle workers, healing the sick, casting out demons and setting people free in the power of the Holy Spirit. What a great honour all believers must enjoy.
