Insightful, Biblical Devotions
“Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them” (John 3:36 NIV).
The text of scripture in John 3:36 is frightening but absolutely true. The Bible says those who face the wrath of God will spend their time in hell where there will be torment. “He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.” Most of our emphasis is on the grace of God and the love of God, and that’s fine but there’s the wrath of God and the judgment of God. Jesus Christ, the Messiah, who came to save the whole world has warned that whoever rejects Him shall perish.
18 “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God” (John 3:18). He hates sin, and He warns mankind year after year, generation after generation. The laws of God never change. The principles of God never change. God is asking people to take personal responsibility for the choice they make regarding their eternal destiny. He says whatever we sow as a nation, whatever we sow as individuals, we reap what we sow.
