It is one of the most precious titles of Christ. It sums up the love, the sacrifice, and the triumph of Christ. Jesus is the lamb of God who takes away the sins of this world. Jesus is called the lamb of God because He is the perfect sacrifice offered to God for the forgiveness of our sins. There is a deliverance that only Jesus Christ can win for us. He is the one true sacrifice who can deliver you from death. Jesus came in obedience to the father to assume full responsibility for all the sins of all humanity. And in the process of doing so, He relieved us of the guilt and the punishment that was due us. Upon one person, God the father laid all of our sins, our guilt and our punishment and made it possible for us to live free of all of that. By Christ’s suffering and His sacrifice, meekly and lovingly borne, redeemed humanity from their sin.

He came to love, suffer, and die for humanity. But on the third day He rose again. Death could not hold Him captive. He is the conquering majesty and power. He is the champion who fought against sin and mastered it in a single contest. When the lamb of God makes you free, you are free indeed. Jesus’ death on the cross and His resurrection from the dead were the Passover from death to life for Himself and for all of us. Jesus is the only sacrifice that can deliver men and women from sin. By His shed blood on Calvary, we are saved from death. Jesus made it possible for us to break out of the slavery of sin and death. Receive Him today if you haven’t already done so.
