Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry” (John 6:35).

There is physical hunger which physical food can satisfy: but there is a spiritual hunger which that food can never satisfy. It is possible to have amassed great wealth and still feel that there is incompleteness in your life. Are you forging your own path in life? God wants to give you the freedom and satisfaction that everybody who has received His invitation is enjoying. God wants to liberate you from the weight of life’s expectations and pressures. A lot of people have been trying anything to satisfy their hunger. But they realized there was no balm, in fact it only made them feel worse. There is a reason for all this, and the reason is a deep dissatisfaction with life, a hunger that nothing can satisfy. Many rich people are trying anything for a new excitement because they are both very rich and very hungry.

Accepting this invitation is a decision that your very survival is based upon. You will soon realize that life is different in God’s kingdom. All that people are interested in is physical satisfaction. But there are other hungers which can be satisfied only by Jesus. There is the hunger for truth, in Him alone is the truth of God. There is hunger for eternal life, in Him alone is life more abundant. There is hunger for righteousness, in Him alone is the righteousness of God which is inputted into those who accept His invitation. There is hunger for love, in Him alone is the love that outlives sin and death. Christ alone can satisfy the hunger of the human heart and soul.
