“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Mat. 11:28).

What’s the heaviest burden that you ever borne in your life? The greatest load anyone can carry is guilt over sin. And all of us have experienced sin in our lives. All of us have had to bear the burden of sin. The heaviest burden that we can bear is sin and the consequences of sin. Sin is a very deceptive burden. There are people who on the outside, they appear to be doing well but deep down on the inside the very nature of guilt and sin is inescapable. People try all kinds of ways and means of escaping it, but they cannot. They try to deny it and rationalize it. They try to excuse it and blame it on someone else. Sometimes they blame their spiritual feeling on something that is physical. The very essence, the very present and the very character of sin, and quilt is destructive.

The good news is that you can off load all that burden of guilt by trusting Jesus Christ as your Lord and saviour. Learn how to give this weight to God. If Jesus Christ doesn’t bear your sin, and you don’t turn to Him for the forgiveness of your sin, then let me ask you this question: “how do you deal with sin in your life?” You need to have an answer. How do you deal with sin in your life if you refuse to come to Christ and accept the fact that He paid for it? The reality is, there is life, death, and judgement. The offer of Christ is life in time and life in eternity. That’s the greatness and glory of which we cheat ourselves when we refuse His invitation. The burden of the human situation is ended when we come to Christ. The restless soul is at rest, the hungry heart is satisfied. Accept this invitation today if you haven’t already done so.
