“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world” (John 16:33).
The early disciples could have looked through Christ’s suffering during the crucifixion and said this was what He said would happen. They didn’t believe all He said was coming to pass, and they didn’t also believe that He was going to rise from the dead as He had told. In fact, they had forgotten about all that He had told them. You see, they could have been in joy and rejoicing deep down in their heart if they had been operating in faith. This is because Jesus was going to defeat death and hell as He had promised. Regardless of what you are going through, God has a good plan for you. If you know God, then He is going to cause things that are against you to be overcome. If you are seeking God, you need to be rejoicing, that’s what the word of God says.
If you are seeking the Lord, it doesn’t matter what situation you are in, it doesn’t matter where you are coming from, it doesn’t matter what you think your future looks like, if you are seeking the Lord, there’s a promise that deliverance is on the way. Something good is about to happen to you because God says so in many places in the scriptures. A classic example is Jer. 29 :11 which says, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope”.
