10 “Now He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath. 11 And behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bent over and could in no way raise herself up. 12 But when Jesus saw her, He called her to Him and said to her, “Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity.” 13 And He laid His hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God. (Luke 13:10-13).
Jesus went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed of the devil (Acts 10:38).
How often does the devil try to attack your body with disease? How healthy and whole do you want to be? 50% of healings that Jesus performed, He had to cast demons out of people. A lot of things are not physical. That’s the reason why sometimes the doctors can’t find out what’s going on because it may have a physical byproduct, but there could be a lot going on spiritually.
If I say to unbelievers that some sicknesses are spiritual and they are caused by devils, they will not understand or believe me. But that’s true, “So ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound – think of it – for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath?” (Luke 13:16). God doesn’t want any sick people in the church. We see God’s will for healing in James 5:14-15. “Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven”.
