Insightful, Biblical Devotions
“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. 9 Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world” (1 Peter 5:8-9).
It’s important to know where your problems are coming from. Ask yourself these questions: why is it that there are temptations, afflictions and tribulations, sicknesses and diseases, poverty, and other problems? Where do these problems come from? Why are doors of opportunities being closed against you? Why are you and your family being tormented? Why are hindrances and obstacles put in your way to slow you down, and to stop you from progressing in life? Where do they come from? Ask yourself. If you don’t know, then I’m going to tell you right now.
Satan is at war with Christians, so we need to be aware of his aggression and be prepared before he hits. You need to resist the devil if you are going to enjoy your Christian life. If you want to overcome temptations in your life and be able to be victorious over wrong habits in your life and walk in oneness with Jesus Christ day by day, then it’s absolutely important that you resist the devil. Resist the enemy of your soul, the devil, your adversary. That’s what the Bible says. It’s the only way to overcome the devil.
