Insightful, Biblical Devotions

62 “On the next day, which followed the Day of Preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees gathered together to Pilate, 63 saying, “Sir, we remember, while He was still alive, how that deceiver said, ‘After three days I will rise.’ 64 Therefore command that the tomb be made secure until the third day, lest His disciples come by night and steal Him away, and say to the people, ‘He has risen from the dead.’ So the last deception will be worse than the first” (Mat. 27:62-64).

These unbelievers even remembered what Jesus said, when He was on this earth before His crucifixion. But sadly, on the third day the disciples went seeking the living among the dead because they allowed what they saw make them forget what He had said to them. They bought spices expecting to apply to Jesus’ body (Luke 24:1-8). Friend don’t let what is happening today in the world around you make you doubt or forget God’s promises.

Are you waiting for a miracle? Dissolve your doubts with the word of God. That’s the only way your doubts could be dissolved. Only the word of God will build up your faith. Remember His promises. The disciples let what they saw make them forget what Jesus had said about His resurrection. They didn’t remember what He had said so they went into hiding and others returned to their fishing business. Don’t let what you see make you forget what God has promised.
