“But let all those rejoice who put their trust in You; Let them ever shout for joy, because You defend them; Let those also who love Your name Be joyful in You. 12 For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous; With favour You will surround him as with a shield” (Ps. 5:11- 12).
So, we are supposed to be in really good mood. We are supposed to cheer up (John 16:33). We are supposed to be in high spirits. You may say I don’t feel very happy. Well, your greatest privilege as a believer is, you don’t have to live by how you feel. You can live by what you know. “This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it” (Ps. 118:24). Live by what you know, not how you feel. All I know is the Lord is saying I should rejoice everyday irrespective of my circumstances. Decide to rejoice.
Decide today that I’m going to rejoice and I’m not going to wait to have some great things happen to me before I rejoice. I’m deciding that I’m not going to wait one moment of my life to be sad and sour. I’m going to glorify God today and notify myself that I’m saved. One of the things that will make you rejoice is to believe what the word of God says about you rather than how you feel or what other people say about you. Start looking on the brighter side of life. The word of God says that all who seek the Lord must rejoice and be glad in Him. Let all those who seek You rejoice and be glad in You; Let such as love Your salvation say continually, “The Lord be magnified!” (Ps. 40:16).
