Insightful, Biblical Devotions

“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)

As believers, we are sometimes hugely disappointed when we go through trials and problems. But we can’t be exempted from them. Being a Christian doesn’t mean you are free from troubles. Let me tell you that you will surely have troubles one way or the other. What is the best way to respond to troubles? It’s very tempting to let our hearts be troubled and panic. We paint pictures of how bad our situations are. But how we come out of crisis is in our own hands. Our situation during crisis will only be disastrous if we allow it to be so, Protect Your Future now.

We should respond to crisis according to Christ’s model. We should respond to every form of crisis with the following reaction and action: “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me” (John 14:1). Christians should not lose hope during rough times. Jesus said, don’t let your heart be troubled, trust God. There are people who are making foolish decisions because their hearts are troubled. There are people who are dying because their hearts are troubled. Our expectation shall never be cut off. Just as believing in God enabled the early disciples to overcome their crisis and live for God, not letting our hearts be troubled and trusting God during trials and troubles are critical to the Christian’s life. Christ prepared His early disciples for the rough times ahead, so has He prepared us. Don’t let troubles throw you. Protect your future by trusting God in all situations.
