“I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened” (Luke 11:9-10).
If you have been born again and been baptised with the Holy Spirit, people ought to be able to tell the difference between you and other people and yet, many are just as depressed, just as sick, just as poor, just as fearful, just as bitter, just as angry and just as people who have not received the Holy Spirit. I’m not saying this to condemn anyone, but I’m saying use what you’ve got. Every believer has got this glorious right and this glorious privilege to approach God in prayer.
Again, the Bible says, you do not have because you do not ask God. 3 When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures (James 4:2-3). It’s not because God has not given you what you need. It’s just because you are not using what you’ve got. If you are depressed, let me ask you a question: When was the last time you spent 30 minutes praying? When was the last time you spent 30 minutes speaking in tongues? In vast majority of people’s lives, they haven’t been doing it. You are not using what you’ve got and yet you wonder why you are depressed and discouraged.
