“Lord, I know that people’s lives are not their own; it is not for them to direct their steps” (Jer. 10:23).
What’s God’s purpose? What’s His plan for my life? What’s God’s will? What does He want to see in my life? These are fundamental questions we need to answer as we conduct our lives. That means understanding things from God’s point of view. That means seeing things and perceiving things as they are, just as they appear to be, to know God and how He operates. To know the will of God for your life is so important because it prevents you from wasting your time, it prevents you from wasting your gifts, your talent, and your treasure.
Normally when I ask young people, what career do you want to pursue? What course do you want to do in the university or college? What do you want to major in, in university? What do you want to do in life? Most of them say they don’t know. You, young man or woman out there, have intimate relationship with the Lord and seek His direction for your life. If you don’t, then you have to figure it out for yourself. Why should you spend three to four years in college, or in university or in apprenticeship, studying all kind of things that will not profit you? Why should you pay huge amount of money that will not profit you in the end?
