Justified By Faith in God

24 Being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25 whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His Forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed” (Rom. 3:24-25).

The above text of scripture describes God’s act of mercy; in which He declares believing sinners righteous while they are still in their sinning state. This is called justification.

The perfect, saving righteousness of God is acquired only by faith. Jesus Christ is the very embodiment of God’s righteousness, and it is because of that truth that He can impart divine righteousness to those who trust in Him. That doesn’t mean that God makes us righteous so that we never sin again: rather, He declares us righteous – much like a judge pardons a guilty criminal. Because Jesus took our sin upon Himself, died on the cross in our place and suffered the punishment of all our sins, God forgives our sin debt and declares us pardoned.

The provision of salvation and the righteousness it brings is granted for all those who believe. Anyone who believes in Jesus Christ as Lord and saviour will be saved, for there is no distinction. To take part in this gift of righteousness, you must step forward into the relationship with God that He has prepared for us, not by doing good works or being a good person but by coming to Christ just as you are and accepting His justification and redemption by faith. Have you received justification and redemption through Christ by believing in Him through faith? If you have not, then please do so now. Justification is the grace of God of which we cheat ourselves when we refuse to receive it.
