“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want” (Ps. 23:1).
How many people over the years have said Jesus is Lord, He is my shepherd, He is my king? But do they mean it, is it real, is it something we experience? Are we experiencing His kingship, Lordship, and leadership? Are we in tune with the Lord’s presence and His word in our lives as He should be? We have every reason to believe in the Lord and follow Him. He came to save us. He is our Messiah. He is righteous and just. That is to say, He is virtuous, He is holy, He is sinless, He is endowed with salvation. He is the saviour of the world. He came to save His people from sin.
He came to die for our sins, to offer forgiveness through grace and eternal life. He came to give you abundance. Some kings draw everything they can out of you to enrich themselves. But this king takes everything He has and gives it to you to enrich you. He came to give you abundant life. “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly” (John 10:10). So, the first blessing that is released into our lives if Jesus is really our King is provision. He gives you life and gives you more abundantly. Some people think God wants to take things away from us. Anything that will make us happy, He wants to take away. Not at all.
