Insightful, Biblical Devotions
“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. (John 10:11)
So, we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?” (Heb. 13:6).
We have His word, that you and I should not live a single day of our lives afraid. I didn’t say sometimes you may not face difficulties. I didn’t say sometimes you may not face problems, but the truth is, once you trust the Lord Jesus as your saviour, He becomes your shepherd who is with you forever. “God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind” (2 Tim. 1:7). We have an awesome encounter with the good shepherd unmatched by any friend, any husband, any wife, or anyone else you can have, because no one can promise to be there for you every time and to meet every situation and circumstance.
God didn’t make any man or woman to be able to meet all of anybody’s needs. He is the one who will help you to understand the things you need to understand. If you are living your life apart from Him, here is something you can watch out for. You will never feel content, you will never be satisfied. No matter how much you accomplish, no matter how much material possessions you may possess, you will never be satisfied, you will never have contentment. You will never have real joy. Peace will be coming and going, you will always be searching because there is something missing in your life.
