For “you were like sheep going astray,” but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls” (1 Peter 2:25).
God created you to be catered for like sheep by the good shepherd. And when we allow ourselves to be directed by God, our good shepherd, we become good shepherds. Good sheep become good shepherds. Before David became a king, he killed Goliath. How could he kill that giant? Because he depended on the Lord. Don’t have this idea that I’m strong, I’m rich, I can provide for myself. Don’t live like that, you will stress out, grow old faster, and die younger. You are meant to live life being guided by the good shepherd, who is God Himself. Carry out your duties being directed by the good shepherd. Rest being guided by the good shepherd, make your plans knowing you are at the centre of the good shepherd’s plans.
For “you were like sheep going astray,” but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls” (1 Peter 2:25). Jesus is the one who brought us back. When we allow ourselves to be directed by Him, we then become good shepherds. David was a good example. Look at the awesome things that he did. He became a major world player; David wrote almost all the psalms. He knocked down Goliath and became the greatest king that ever lived. David was a good shepherd. He took care of the sheep and became the shepherd of God’s people. Also, David was a shepherd, but he likened himself to the sheep.
