Insightful, Biblical Devotions
“He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed” (1 Peter 2:24 NIV).
You are redeemed to be healthy. Healing is part of the salvation package because Jesus bore our sicknesses on the cross (Isaiah 53:4-5). God wants us to be well. He is the Lord that heals us (Exodus 15:26). He is the Lord who sent His Word to heal us (Psalm 107:20). He is the Lord who forgives all our sins and heals all our diseases (Psalm 103:1-3). If we want to know God’s will concerning something, we need to look at Jesus. Jesus healed all who came to Him and never once turned anyone away. He is the Lord who healed all who came to Him (Matthew 8:16).
There is a Bible story about a blind man who one day heard that Jesus was passing by. He shouted for help, and Jesus gave Him His attention. Call onto Him and He will give you His attention. He will answer you. Jesus said: “I’m telling you that ask, and it shall be given to you”. People shouted at the blind man to be quiet, but he said to himself, if Jesus is passing by, then I must have my miracle today. And indeed, he received his miracle. Don’t allow anybody to stop you from receiving your miracle. Jesus gave him His attention. He said, “what do you want me to do for you”? And this blind man said, “Master, I want to receive my sight”. The Bible says he was healed instantly (Mark 10:46-52). You can also present your case to God.
