Insightful, Biblical Devotions
“Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm” (Pro. 13:20).
Know that God will place people in your life who will give you godly counsel whereas the devil will do the opposite. An example of ungodly counsel is sometimes you hear a counsellor who suggests that you violate the word of God. They will tell you, “that’s what they did so you have to take them to court and sue them to get everything that they’ve got”. Did that sound like God?
The people who defraud you or abuse you, are already lost and so if the counsellor advises you to take unscriptural action, you must know that’s not godly counsel. It may be what you want to do, it may be what you feel like doing. You may be feeling angry at that moment and thinking, that’s what I want to do. Why are you doing this thing? ‘That’s what they said’. The issue is, what did God say? If God didn’t say it, don’t do it. So many people have destroyed their lives, family, marriages, finances and morals because they listened to unwise and ungodly counsel.
