“Lord, what do You want me to do?” (Acts 9:6).
How can you live with no sense of direction? That’s not a successful life. Only God can help you to find out. Therefore, you need to know Him in an intimate way. You will have a sense of direction given to you by God. You will begin to view things from God’s perspective. The most important thing for us to know is who is God, how does He operate and what’s His direction for my life? Not just what you are going to do for the rest of your life, but what’s God’s direction for tomorrow morning? What’s God’s direction for the next step I want to take? What’s God’s will in the decision I’m just about to take? Are you depending on the decisions of your friends and the people you work with? You hear your friends saying, you ought to do this, you ought to do that.
Ask yourself, what’s God’s point of view in this? In this decision making, what’s God’s viewpoint, what’s He saying to me? You must learn to listen to Him. God is willing to reveal His will to you if you are willing to listen to Him. If we are willing not just to consider it but to do it. The all-wise God who created us has a sense of purpose for our lives. Therefore, He knows what’s best but sometimes we think we know what’s best. We shouldn’t lean on our own understanding but to acknowledge Him, and then He will direct our path if you trust Him. Our path is there, but only God can direct us.
