Insightful, Biblical Devotions
Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ Says the Lord of hosts (Zech. 4:6).
He has given us power to do His work. Understand the power and the person of the Holy Spirit. Jesus offered Himself through the Holy Spirit to come to this earth. The Holy Spirit was His power. The Holy Spirit was the one who revealed Christ to people. Christ was anointed with the Holy Spirit and with power to go around doing good. “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him” (Acts 10:38)
When He said go into all the world and preach the gospel, He knew there will be challenges. So, He gave us a promise, He said wait until you receive power from on high (see Acts 1:5-8, Luke 24:49). The Holy Spirit’s presence is something you can’t describe. Sometimes, you wouldn’t need anybody to lay hands on you or pray for you. There’s power in the very presence of the Holy Spirit. His presence fills your body. His presence heals the sick. His presence convicts. Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ Says the Lord of hosts (Zech. 4:6). Without Him you can do nothing.
