Believe What He Has Said

“He is not here but is risen! Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee, saying, ‘The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again’” (Luke 24:6-7).

The angel said remember what He said, He’s risen. The angel said, He has moved to another dimension. Why do you expect Him to be dead? The question is, what made the disciples of Jesus doubt about His resurrection? The disciples saw His body, having been taken down from the cross. Blood pouring from His wounds. His body prepared for the grave. Yes, Jesus died: the crucifixion was no mistake, His side was pierced, and blood and water flowed from it. The piercing of His side with a spear was most clear and evident proof that He was dead.

As a dead man, He was taken down from the cross and laid in a tomb. His body stained with the blood of his wounds. He was wrapped in fine linen with sweet spices. No man in this world was ever more surely dead than He was. As dead as He was, they laid Him in the place of the dead, with napkin and grave clothes. They rolled the great stone at the grave’s mouth and left Him, knowing that He was dead. What they had seen made them doubt what they had heard about His resurrection. They totally forgot what Jesus had told them prior to His crucifixion. Don’t be a doubter of God’s word!
