Insightful, Biblical Devotions

It is absurd to reject Christ’s offer of salvation and fellowship. Just listen to what He says: “Come, for all things are now ready” (Luke 14:17). All things pertaining to life and Godliness are ready for those who receive Christ as their Lord and personal saviour. “His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue” (2 Peter 1:3). It’s God’s character to make things ready. He made things ready even before you needed them. He promises to answer you when you cry onto Him and to supply all your needs according to His riches in Christ Jesus. “And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus” (Phil. 4:19).

He has made all things ready, just ask and receive so your joy will be full. “Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full” (John 16:24). God would give you divine favour, would give you joy; would give you peace that surpasses understanding, would deliver you from trouble, would prosper you and give you good success. His blessing makes you rich and He adds no sorrow with it. The blessing of the Lord makes one rich, And He adds no sorrow with it. (Prov. 10:22)

Let me ask you a question. What honest and sufficient excuse do you have to reject such an offer? Don’t think you lack nothing because everyone needs Jesus. Consider your soul, for it is worth more than the whole world. Your soul can never be retrieved from hell if you reject Jesus. For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? (Mat. 16:26) Don’t think you are good enough because all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Rom. 3:23). Your righteousness is like a filthy rag. “But we are all like an unclean thing, and all our righteousness’s are like filthy rags; We all fade as a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away” (Isa. 64:6). Our righteousness is as filthy rags.
