One of the central themes in both the Old and New Testaments is resurrection. And the resurrection of Jesus is the cornerstone of our Christian faith. This event, which occurred more than two thousand years ago, is the best attested fact in human history and experience. The Bible tells us that Christ was delivered up for our sins and raised from the dead for our justification. Without Christ’s resurrection we would have no salvation from sin, and no hope for our own future resurrection. The promise of our resurrection is found in the resurrection of Christ from the dead.
This is why Christ is referred to as the ‘first fruits’ of the resurrection. His resurrection is the precursor and the model for our own. That means our resurrected bodies will be similar in nature to His. They will be both physical and glorious. Resurrection is our hope! In today’s message titled “Resurrection of the dead,” Evangelist Paul Acquah encourages you to know that because of the resurrection, we can have confidence that death has been defeated in the death and resurrection of Jesus.
