The word of God is powerful, it’s alive, and it works. Therefore, we need the revelation knowledge of the word of God. “12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart” (Hebrews 4:12). The word of God accomplishes whatever you set it to do. “For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, And do not return there, But water the earth, And make it bring forth and bud, That it may give seed to the sower And bread to the eater, 11 So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it” (Isaiah 55:10-11).
Why does the word work for some people but not for others? We need to realise that only the Word which has been mixed with faith (which comes from the Lord) will profit us. “For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it” (Hebrews 4:2). To get revelation knowledge is to hear God’s voice and mix what you hear with faith. What you really need is to hear God’s voice and get fresh revelation. If we could really hear God’s voice, we could avoid the majority of problems that we are facing today. There are truths that need to be understood through personal revelation. How do we receive the Word of God being made alive and powerful in our lives as Hebrews 4:12 talks about? One important way is by meditating on God’s Word.
God wants you to succeed, so he says: “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success “(Joshua 1:8). But many think there’s a better way to prosper, so until this becomes personal revelation to you, the word will not profit you. God wants you to have abundant life, so He says, “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly” (John 10:10). God delights in the prosperity of his children. “The LORD be exalted, who delights in the well-being of his servant” (Psalm 35:27). “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11).
For example, did you know that when you’re in need and don’t have enough money, natural instinct will tell you to save and hold on to what you have? But because there is a God who says that when you give, it will be given back to you, giving away a portion of what you have will actually bring you closer to your goal. When you trust in God and follow His guidance, even when you’re lacking, you actually increase rather than decrease. It may not make sense to your natural mind, but in the kingdom of God, the way up is down. By giving instead of hoarding, you open yourself up to receiving more. These are truths that need to be understood through personal revelation. The point I’m making is that revelation knowledge is far superior to just intellectual knowledge. It’s a journey into the unseen realm of God’s promises. It defies the limitations of the human mind and pleases God when we trust Him beyond reason. I am not saying Christianity is mindless. But a relationship with God goes beyond explanations; it’s about experiencing His presence.
