Instruct the wise, and they will be even wiser

God Is A Rewarder

Have you ever felt like your efforts go unnoticed? Like the good you do, the faith you hold onto, and the sacrifices you make are all for nothing? We all long for our lives to have meaning, for our struggles to have a purpose, and for our devotion to be acknowledged. But what if I told you that it is? That every act of faith, no matter how small, is seen? That the God we serve isn’t a distant, silent observer, but an active participant in our lives? This isn’t just about what we get as believers; it’s about the very nature of who He is. It’s about a God who sees you, who knows your heart, and who promises to honour every step you take toward Him. This article explores what it truly means to believe that God rewards those who earnestly seek Him. Be blessed as you read!

God desires for someone to have faith in Him. He wants you to believe in Him. John 14:1 says,
“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me”.
And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; For You, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You” (Psalm 9:10).

Most of us have heard that when we get to heaven, we will receive rewards. However, it’s also possible to experience rewards here on earth. “Then Peter began to say to Him, ‘See, we have left all and followed You’. So Jesus answered and said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My sake and the gospel’s, who shall not receive a hundredfold now in this time – houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions – and in the age to come, eternal life’” (Mark 10:28-30).

The Bible specifically states that we must believe certain things about God. It identifies two essential beliefs we should hold about Him. Since God emphasises the importance of these beliefs, it’s essential to discover what they are and where they can be found in the Bible. Let’s turn to Hebrews 11:6 for more insight: “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him”. The text states that without faith, it is impossible to please God. Those who come to God must believe two things: that He exists, and that He rewards those who diligently seek Him. It doesn’t say it’s a good idea, a suggestion, or an option. Instead, it emphasises the necessity of these beliefs. Therefore, if you come to God, you must believe that He is still on His throne and that He rewards those who seek Him earnestly.

When Moses asked the question in Exodus 3, “Who are you, God?” the response was, “I am.” If we were to ask the same question today, God’s reply would remain unchanged: “I am.” He would convey that He is whatever we need, the all-sufficient One. God might elaborate by saying, “I am your Creator”. He could continue by stating:
– I’m your Creator.
– I’m your Provider.
– I’m your Healer.
– I’m your Comforter.
– I’m your Deliverer.
– I’m your Good Shepherd.
– I’m your Shield.
– I’m your Buckler.
– I’m your Peace.
– I’m your Strength.

When we move into the New Testament, Jesus continues this theme by saying:
– I’m the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
– I’m the Resurrection and the Life.
– I’m the Door through which you may enter.
– I’m your Saviour.
– I’m your Soon-Coming King.

" God wants us to know Him, and He wants us to know that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. "

God revealed Himself to Moses at the burning bush, declaring, “I am.” At that moment, you can understand that He embodies whatever we need. He is the “I Am.”
– I am the one who is able to do whatever needs to be done.
– I am the all-sufficient One.
– I am the Almighty One.

God wants us to know Him, and there is an important aspect of this that He wants us to understand: He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. This belief is crucial. God wants you to know that He exists and rewards those who seek Him earnestly. This message is for everyone out there who is taking care of their responsibilities: if you wake up every day, give your best, and serve wholeheartedly, even when your efforts go unrecognised, know that God appreciates you. He sees everything you do. By fulfilling your day-to-day responsibilities with consistency and dedication, you will ultimately be rewarded. Keep doing your best!

God has a plan for you, and it involves doing things in life that are important to Him. I want you to know that no matter what you are doing – whether people appreciate your efforts, acknowledge your contributions, or celebrate your achievements – God sees everything you do. You are important to Him. He appreciates you, and He will celebrate you. Hebrews 6:10-12 (NIV) says, God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them. 11 We want each of you to show this same diligence to the very end, so that what you hope for may be fully realised. 12 We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised.

The word “forget” means to lose something from one’s mind or to no longer care about it; it’s akin to the saying “out of sight, out of mind.” Sometimes, when people are right there with you, they can appreciate your efforts and services. However, once they walk away – whether for a few weeks, months, or even a year – it’s as if they forget everything you have done, what you have offered, and the contributions you’ve made. But God assures us that we will never be out of sight or out of mind with Him. He will never forget us or lose us from His thoughts. God cares deeply about what you have done for His people and in His name.

It doesn’t have to be something grand. The Bible teaches us that whatever we do, we should do it as if we are doing it for the Lord. This could be as simple as a single parent caring for their children every day, or a police officer risking their life for the community. It could also be about being a good citizen and serving those around you. It’s not necessary to be on a world stage to make a difference. When you touch one life at a time or make small positive contributions throughout your day, remember that God does not overlook your efforts. While people may be unjust and forget what you’ve done for them, God will always recognise and appreciate your actions. It’s important to understand that what you may not receive in recognition from others, you will receive from God.
