^“Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages have come” (1 Cor. 10:11).

Many people are praying and asking God for help, but they might think – I don’t need a message about David, or I don’t need a message about any Old Testament saint or any biblical character; I need something now! You see, the Bible shows things about David, how God blessed him and prospered him when he was seeking the Lord and when he turned from the Lord. And how he opened the door for the devil and it cost him and his family and his nation. These things were written for your benefit. If your life is totally out of control and you need help, this is for you. If you will take lessons from David and other Bible characters, and learn to apply it to your life, it will revolutionize the way God is moving in your life.

There are examples of those who failed and those who succeeded. There are also examples of those God accomplished His purposes for their lives. One of the very important things in living a life worth living is to have encouragers. Who are the most important encouragers in your life? Everyone of God’s children need encouragers in their life. Life won’t always be easy, so you will need encouragers. We have encouragers around here on earth and in heaven. There are a whole vast of witnesses in heaven that we can read about in the Bible to enable us to understand what the Christian life is all about. Remember, our greatest role model is the Lord Jesus Christ Himself.
