Insightful, Biblical Devotions
“Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful” (Joshua 1:8 NIV).
What you are doing may not seem as significant as others, but you are being faithful in what God has called you to do, and that’s what God calls success. Those who are faithful in a few things will also be faithful in much. God will say to you, Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’ (Mat. 25:23). God has empowered you and me with the required resources to enable us to succeed in life and live in abundance. According to the Bible, successful people do the following:
“Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful” (Joshua 1:8 NIV). If you meditate on the word of God day and night, and observe to do what you are meditating on and studying, you will prosper and have good success. Meditating is pondering on the word of God.
Successful people don’t associate themselves with bad people. They meditate on the word of God. “Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, 2 but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. 3 That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither – whatever they do prospers” (Psalm 1:1-3 NIV). Make sure you are doing what will make you prosper and have good success.
