Insightful, Biblical Devotions
“Therefore, submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you” (James 4:7).
Do you know how to resist the devil when he comes against you? Whether it’s the accuser, adversary, or the destroyer, it is clear that the devil is the enemy of God and God’s people. He is causing us much trouble as he can, but he’s already been defeated. The word of God teaches that believers can stand firm against him through the power of the Lord. How? By resisting him. You see, you’ve already been given everything you need to be able to resist the devil.
You have authority in Jesus’ name, and you have the spirit of almighty God inside you. Therefore, resist him and the Bible says he will flee from you. No matter how it looks like, feels like, or seems like, the authority Jesus gave believers is real and more powerful than the evil in the world. I encourage you to wise up to the enemy’s dubious strategies and use the power of Christ’s power in you. You have overcome the evil one, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.
