Insightful, Biblical Devotions
“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly” (John 10:10)
Jesus said, “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly”. More abundantly means you have more than enough, so there’s a progression here (John 10:10). One reason why we have an abundance is so we can bless others. We have more than enough. Again, He said, “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you” (Mat. 6:33). He didn’t say all these things will be taken away from you. He said all these things, in the context that, the things that the gentiles worry about, stress about and fear about, all our provisions, King Jesus said they will be added to you.
We are not saying that believers will not face attacks and problems, but if we shall seek His kingdom first, and follow Him as our Lord and king, He has promised us that we shall not lack. So, provisions will be released into our lives if the Lord is our master and shepherd. Not only financial provision, but emotional, relationship, and everything, if God becomes your master and King. If He becomes your shepherd. He is a God of more than enough. He is a God of abundance. “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us” (Eph. 3:20).
