Insightful, Biblical Devotions
“Master speak your servant is listening” (1 Sam. 3:10).
There are requirements of listening to Him. The first is meditating on the word of God (see Psalm 1). You should get this message. That is, obey God, else you will be like chaff of wheat. Take a passage of scripture and meditate on it. This is what I have discovered: If I read a passage today and I’m still meditating on it the next day then I know God is trying to say something to me.
God speaks to us when we are ready to listen to Him. God spoke to Samuel when he said, “Master speak your servant is listening” (1 Sam. 3:10). God spoke to Moses: when the Lord saw that he turned aside to look, God called to him from the midst of the bush and said, “Moses, Moses!” (Exo. 3:4). You must be ready to hear God when reading your Bible, praying, listening to a sermon, attending church. “God, what should I do in this situation?” Then you go to your Bible, you pray, you ask the Holy Spirit, you seek godly counsel.
