“Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!” (Ps. 27:14).
Most of us probably live hurriedly. We live in the fast track or fast lane. And that’s probably true in most parts of the world today. Everyone seems to be rushing around and if we are not careful, we will rush into something that God is not in. Why will He say be strong and take courage? Because if my desire for something is so strong, I have to be strong enough internally not to move ahead, even though I may think, I may wish, I may desire, I may want, I may dream this may be my goal. Sometimes it takes a great deal of strength, a great deal of courage not to give in even though everything around you is shouting “hurry, hurry, time is running out”.
There’s a verse of assurance when we are being patient. “None of those who wait for you will be ashamed” (Ps. 25:3). This is an important verse because all of us are challenged not to wait. Just move on with it, and all of us can look at times when we disobeyed God, moved ahead and we were sorry. No one who waits on the Lord will be ashamed. If we wait for the Lord, we won’t be ashamed. We don’t have to be embarrassed waiting for the Lord. You don’t have to be ashamed waiting upon the Lord.
