Jesus said “the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again” (Luke 24:7).
The children of this world sometimes remember God’s word more than believers. When Jesus was on this earth, He told His disciples many times saying: “I will rise again” but they forgot, because they were in doubt. They probably said to themselves, how can a man be dead for three days and rise again. The unbelievers of His time actually remembered what He said but His own disciples forgot because they didn’t believe what He said. Jesus told His disciples many times that He will die and rise again but they forgot. They didn’t believe, they doubted.
Jesus began to show His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders, chief priests, and scribes. He said He would be killed and be raised up on the third day. In Mathew 17:23, when Jesus said that “they will kill Him, and He will be raised on the third day,” they were deeply grieved. My friend, dissolve your doubts. He said to His disciples, “They will mock Him and spit on Him, and scourge Him and kill Him, and three days later He will rise again.” The disciples forgot, but the unbelievers remembered. Don’t be a doubter of God’s word!
